Further Information
Riverside is a premium licensed stallion who arrived in Australia in September 2008. He was purchased from Hengststation Pape in Germany July 2008, however needed to complete his stud duties in Germany before leaving for Australia. Riverside was licensed in 2003 achieving top scores in dressage and high values in show jumping. He acheived an overall score of 133.8 with an outstanding dressage index of 138.5 pts. To put this in perspective, his overall index is higher than many highly regarded stallions such as Alabaster, Brentano II, Londondary, Lord Sinclair, Pommery and Wolkentanz just to name a few!
Riverside connects the breeding lines of Rubinstein and Donnerhall, arguably the two most successful international dressage stallions when combined. Riverside's mother, St.Pr.St. Desiree is full sister to the stallion Donnerschlag, his grandmother Pirola is full sister to the sires Pik Bube I + II. Out of Pirola, three horses competed successfully in dressage at an advanced level. She has produced 3 licensed sons and several state prime mares.
Riverside's athletic career is extremely successful. In 2006 he was a was finalist of the World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden. He was the most highly qualified horse with a score of 9,0 for the Federal Championships (Bundeschampionat) in Warendorf. His particular talent for collection is evident in his talent for higher level movements.
Riverside has produced premium foals and top quality riding horses in Germany for example, his son Rodrigo (Riverside/Hohenstein/Davignon I) who sold at the Elite Auction in Verden in 2007 for a price of 200 000 €.

Sire line

Regazzoni
His offspring have already achieved over 100.000 € in dressage competitions. In 1996 Regazzoni won the finals of the German 5-year old dressage championships.
Regazzoni (pic above) was 1995 Vice Federal Champion at the German Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Regazzoni won the stallion performance test in Munster-Handorf in 1994 with the tremendous score of 152 points for rideability. He received the optimum score of 10 for temperament, rideability and rideability assessment by an extraneous rider, as well as a further 9.5 score for character and preparedness to perform. He gained 8.5 for walk, 8 for canter and 9 trot. He was federal vice-champion German riding horse in Warendorf in 1995 and won the finals of the 1996 German 5 year old dressage championship. He has competed successfully in dressage competitions up to intermediate level and was training Grand Prix.
Regazzoni was the star of the 1998 approvals season. He presented the approved stallion Rendesvouz in 1997 and in 1998 a total of six Regazzoni sons left the scene of the approval in Verden and Oldenburg with the title approved. These then went to famous stables, including the record priced stallion of the Verden stallion market, Riccione, who went to Rhineland for a sum of DM 350,000. A daughter Revue Girl fetched DM300,000 at auction Ribera Grande was the best Hanoverian mare at the 2000 Euro-Mare Championship in Brussels, Belgium. Ravenna M was awarded the state premium and highly placed at the 2000 Federal Championship in Warendorf. His 11 licensed sons indicate that Regazzoni can pass on his abilities. At their performance tests Regazzoni’s sons have done well, for example; the stallion Z.B.Ransom (134.9 points), Ragtime (130.2 points), Regardez (128.5 points) and of course, Riverside (138.5).
Regazzoni is also the sire of Royal Highness, who, in the qualification finals of the 2005 Bundeschampionate, placed 1st with a score of 9.3 out of 43 horses. In the finals he went on to tie for 4th with 8.7. Royal Highness also went onto the qualifying round of the 2005 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the 5 yo division where he placed well in the finals.
Regazzoni could not have had a better introduction to his siring career. His offspring have a very extravagant trot. He has 10 licensed sons, 30 state premium mares, and 39 auction horses.
Rubinstein
Rubinstein (pictured above) is considered one of the all time great sires and dressage competitors world wide. The double world champion and fourfold European champion was the world's most successful dressage horse for a long time. His full-brother Amon also took part in the Olympic Games three times (if one includes Rotterdam in 1980) and was the most successful dressage horse of the Netherlands under Annemarie Sanders-Keyzar, where he was considered to be unbeatable for a long time, gaining the Dutch Championship title seven times. In October of 2000, Amon passed away at the ripe old age of 32 years. Then there is Rembrandt, the elegant dancer, who with Nicole Uphoff glided through the big dressage arenas of the world, enchanting the public with his fantastic agility. He won individual and team gold with his rider twice, making her the youngest Olympic champion of all times, breaking the sonic barrier of the magic 1500 points delimitation in 1990 and becoming world champion.
Rubinstein is known as a great improver for the breed. He consistently passes on his wonderful temperament and movement. The youngstock of Rubinstein are very popular with riders professional and amateur for their willingness to please.
Rosenkavalier

Rosenkavalier (pic above) is considered to be one of the most significant Westphalian sires. He was the winner of the Stallion Performance Test at Warendorf in 1983. He sired 471 registered offspring. His most famous sons include Rubenstein and the Grand Prix dressage horse Rubens. His offspring have been successful in the dressage ring and the show jumping arena alike.
Werther

Werther (pic above) was the very first stallion honored by the title "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year" in 1992 and has certainly proven his ability to sire performance and breeding horses treasured for their athleticism, soundness, versatility and personality. Werther is by the great Hanoverian stallion, Wendekreis, from whom he gets strength, bone, and jumping ability. From his Marcio xx damline, Werther inherits his wonderful movement. Werther's progeny are proof of his ability to pass on top performance qualities. His offspring have won over 2 million DM in competitions. 41 of his sons have been licensed. 90 of his mares have achieved the prestigious States Premium Mare title. Famous dressage horses sired by Werther include: Willy the Great, First Wellpoint, Warrenty, Wacramentana and others. Famous international jumpers sired by Werther include: Werra, Silwa Wapiti, and B&H medicott Walloony.
Dam line
Donnerhall

Donnerhall is the most successful dressage horse in the world and looks back on an exemplary career. He managed like no other sire of his generation to combine success in breeding and in sport alike. In 1986 Donnerhall was the German DLG Champion in Hanover. After many wins in Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and freestyle classes at International level he became German champion in Mannheim with his constant rider Karin Rehbein in 1994, team world champion and individual bronze medal winner in The Hague. This was followed by another climax in 1997: Team gold and individual bronze at the European Dressage Championships in Verden. In 1998 he was once more included in the German world championship team and with Karin Rehbein was a member of the gold medal team in Rome, where he attained fourth place in the individual results. Donnerhall won the World Cup European League, as well as being the Oldenburg dressage stallion of the year in 1997 and 1998 respectively.
Pik Bube (Riverside's mother is out of a full sister to Pik Bube I and II)

Pik Bube was himself a successful sire in his own right, but more importantly he became one half of the magic equation: Donnerhall x Pik Bube - for the overwhelming majority of successful Donnerhall progeny are out of mares by Pik Bube. With his rider Herbert Rehbein, they won 11 out of 12 advanced classes in their only competition season in 1980. Pik Bube’s sire, Pik König is considered the most important son of the famous Thoroughbred sire of showjumpers, Pik As xx. Pik König sired 19 Approved sons and 22 State Premium mares. His offspring - such as Pirol 37 - were mainly successful in showjumping. With a dressage index of 126, and a jumping index of 131, Pik König had an overall rating of 129. His sire, Pik As xx stood at the State Stud Celle from 1953-69, where he sired four approved sons. Pik Bube’s dam, Franka also produced the full-brother, Pik Bube II and the advanced dressage horse, Poseidon 30. Her dam, Dohlenfurstin, was an international showjumper under the name Daniela. Dohlenfurstin is also the dam of Grand Prix showjumper, Prince Charming. Franka is by Frustra II was a crucially important dam sire in the Hanoverian studbook, stallions such as Donkosak, Drosselklang I & II, Goldfalk, Graphit, Gralsritter, Imperial, Löwenstein, Piaff, Wachmann I & II, Webefunk, and many more, were out of mares by Frustra II. Pik Bube I sired performers in all disciplines. His daughter, Pikantje was Federal German riding horse champion of 1981, and Pik Bube’s Girl won the 1990 Federal Mare Show in Verden. Pik Primaire, Pik Royal were amongst the 49 of his offspring that were successful in advanced dressage, while 19 showjumpers achieved advanced level. As a brood mare sire, Pik Bube has been a phenomenon, especially when teamed with Donnerhall: Davignon, Don Primero, Don Schufro, Donatelli, Donnerbube, Dream of Glory, Duntroon - all bred on that magic cross Donnerhall/Pik Bube.
