Mares can be sent to Revelwood for insemination with fresh, chilled or frozen semen. As Amanda does not offer ambulatory services, she is available to closely monitor the mares and inseminate as close to the 'ideal' time as possible. For example, mares admitted for frozen semen are often examined by ultrasound throughout the night to time the insemination as close to ovulation as possible. Amanda also offers a service to owners with mares that have a poor breeding history. Mares that pool fluid or have a low conception rate often acheive pregnancy due to diagnostic tests and therapies carried out. Revelwood can also monitor your mare leading up to and during foaling. Mares have a "Magic Breed" foaling alarm fitted and are monitored through the night. Post foaling flushes and treatments are carried out as routine. Revelwood also offers mare owners access to embryo transfer services. Embryo transfer in horses is becoming an increasingly popular way to breed performance mares. It is not only the ideal way to ride and breed at the same time but also a means of achieving multiple pregnancies from the one mare per season. Donor mares are only required to stay at the clinic for a handful of days per attempt, allowing them to continue in their regular training program. Embryos are transfered into one of our recipient mares with a fee payable upon a successful pregnancy being achieved.Stallions are also catered for at Revelwood. Whether it is phantom training, semen collection or evaluation you require, Amanda is only too happy to discuss your needs. Semen is collected in our purpose built breeding barn (with full rubber floor) using either a jump mare or breeding mount. Please email for a veterinary price list
