Magritte (Imp)

Magritte was imported into Australia by Emma Youngman. He was initially trained by his previous rider Jan Brink who is currently enjoying success aboard Briar (half brother to Magritte). Magritte was the winner of both the Dressage and Showjumping in his stallion licensing tests at Flyinge, Sweden. Some years later, he went on to become the Small Tour Champion of Sweden before commencing his Grand Prix career. Once Grand Prix, he qualified for the 2003 European Dressage Championships, with the highest score by a breeding stallion ever seen in Australia!

His paces are still full of expression with amazing mechanics in piaffe and passage. This stallion makes the Grand Prix movements look effortless!

Progeny

Magritte sired the famous young stallion Maistic (pic above). Maistic vas aproaved as third best stallion during the swedish performance tests for stallions. The international testrider gave him a score of 9 (max. 10) for the rideability and capacity as dressage horse during the test. He also got the highest mark for his exterior of all stallions.

Maistic has got a lot of praise for his charisma and his extremly good gaits. His rider Minna Telde had educated and competed him on showgrounds both in Sweden and abroad. In the final of World Breeding Championchips for young dressage horses at Arnhem, Netherlands, he reached a bronze medal in the class for six years old horses. In Sweden he had been high placed in both Breeders Trophy and Scandinavian Open. Last year he had victories in Prix S:t Georges. Maistic sold to Switzerland in the beginning of 2001.

Magini

Magini was a successful Grand Prix jumper, winning the Falsterbo International Horse Show Derby with Rolf Göran Bengtsson in 1994. He started 66 times in 150 cm (4’11”) classes, won 7 times and placed 29 times. Magini sired approved stallions Briar 899 and Magritte 780. Both stallions are doing GP dressage and Briar is the world’s top ranked dressage stallion, recently winning dressage at Aachen with Jan Brink. Five of Magini’s get are successful GP showjumpers as well. Magini’s BLUP index is: Conformation 113, Gaits 122, Jumping 130 for a total of 122 and thus has proven to produce both dressage and jumping prospects.

He has a positive influence (+1 cm) on height at the withers.

Briar (half brother to Magritte)

Briar is currently classed the no 1 Dressage Stallion in the world on the BCM ranking list. Briar, ridden by Jan Brink (trainer of Magriite) to his first Silver medal at the European Championships at Hickstead with only Ulla Salzgeber and Rusty above him, the only two riders to score over 80 %! Briar and Jan also took the Bronze in the open individual Championships and we are just thrilled over his consistent top performance record. He won the Swedish Championships for the 3rd year in a row and is at the moment in such super form that the Olympics are in sight!
